Elevate your skiing/snowboarding to the next level with a SAS Edutour and learn from our experienced faculty! Join Brittany Konsella and Josh Jespersen on this 3 day course tailored to help you build the skills necessary to tackle the toughest lines in Colorado and beyond. Brittany is the second of only two women to ski all of Colorado’s 14ers & co-author of Ski & Snowboard Routes: Colorado. Josh is a former Navy SEAL and fully certified AMGA American Mountain Guide who holds the fastest record for climbing and descending all of Colorado’s 14ers on skis or a splitboard. This 3-day course (plus 2 Zoom sessions prior to the course) will target the following:

  • Human elements associated with big mountain skiing

  • Rappelling and basic ski mountaineering anchors

  • Steep ski/snowboard descent techniques

  • Choosing the best lines based on avalanche danger, snow quality, and weather

  • Surface problem mitigation in technical terrain

  • Belayed skiing

  • Advanced route planning and collaborative mapping experience

  • Using traditional and alternative methods to gather route data

  • Continual reflection on a refinement of your approach to self and situational awareness as you interface with terrain of consequence
