The Avalanche Mapping Course

  • Broad overview of geospatial technoloigies used for avalanche mapping. 
  • Students will work on a project 
  • Field work on a local avalanche path of interest
The course will run daily from 8AM to 5PM, with a lunch break. Morning sessions will provide a basic understanding of meteorological principles applied to weather in mountainous areas. Afternoon sessions will focus on using publicly available weather information to create a local forecast. More information will be emailed to registrants prior to the start of the workshop.
